PUGH NAMED TO ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM

Jamika Pugh started all 14 games for SU

Grambling, LA - Freshman Jamika Pugh, of the Southern University Lady Jaguars soccer team, was named to the 2005 Southwestern Athletic Conference soccer All-Tournament team.

Pugh is in her first year at SU and finished the year with one goal off of 19 shots with 12 of those on goal. As a defender for the Lady Jaguars she has helped record 98 saves off of 152 shots on goal. The Vacaville, California native decided to attend Southern because of their law program. She is currently majoring in criminal justice.

"I'm very happy because I play hard every game," said Pugh. "My teammates and I are very close and I enjoy playing with them. With their help I received this honor."

"Jamika is deserving of the award because she is an outstanding player," said interim head coach John Knighten. "She played in all 14 games and I know she is a hard worker who does what she can for her team."
